In a bid to alleviate the financial burden of medical expenses on its citizens, the Ekiti State Government has disbursed N100m to 105 beneficiaries suffering from various medical conditions. The move is aimed at ensuring that residents can afford their medical bills amidst economic hardship.
According to Commissioner for Health, Dr. Oyebanji Filani, the financial assistance covers treatments for kidney and cancer, appendectomies, cataract surgeries, fibroids removals, and other conditions. The support is targeted at individuals undergoing treatment within or outside the state.
Filani praised Governor Biodun Oyebanji for his commitment to the welfare of the masses, urging beneficiaries to remain optimistic and follow medical instructions for a speedy recovery. The state government reaffirmed its dedication to providing quality, accessible, and affordable healthcare services to all citizens.
Permanent Secretary, Mrs. Olusola Gbenga-Igotun, emphasized the importance of prioritizing health, regular exercise, and a balanced diet to stay healthy. Beneficiaries, including Chief Babatunde Ayowale, expressed gratitude to the governor for making their health a priority.
