Despite recent reports that LIFT could launch flights between Durban and Runion by the end of February, the airline has confirmed that it is not currently involved in the plans initiated by its owner, Global Airways.
For the moment, this is an endeavour of Global Airways any future LIFT involvement would be communicated. The proposed services form part of a Global Airways charter initiative rather than a confirmed LIFT scheduled service, said Cilliers Jordaan , Chief Commercial Officer of LIFT.
Recent reports suggested that LIFT would launch flights between Durban and Runion at the end of February, however the airline has denied this. While February has been referenced in some external reporting, no commercial launch date has been formally confirmed. Any commencement remains subject to final commercial arrangements, operational readiness, and the completion of all required regulatory and traffic rights processes, said Jordaan.
