Medeama head coach Nebojsa Kapor is convinced his team can make up the nine-point gap to Samartex and retain their Ghana Premier League crown.

Kapor has recorded just six wins from his opening 17 matches since taking over the reins from Evans Augustine Adotey on an initial one-year contract in December.

The Bosnian tactician, who has previously managed Bechem United, guided the Mauve and Yellow to a 1-0 victory over Great Olympics at the Ohene Djan Sports Stadium on Sunday as they climbed up to fifth in the standings.

The defending champions have now won three of their last five games to gain ground on the frontrunners and Kapor believes they can catch the league leaders in the remaining fixtures of the season.

We believed we can win the match (against Great Olympics) and we won. We have a bright future. We believe we can win the title, he said.

But also we are concentrating on our next game against Real Tamale United at home. We have enough time to prepare for this game.
