The deployment of a South African Police Service SAPS team to mining company Richards Bay Minerals RBM, which KwaZulu-Natal Police Commissioner Lt-Gen Nhlanhla Mkhwanazi alleged was influenced by the Presidency, has cost taxpayers R146 million so far.
Acting Police Commissioner Prof Firoz Cachalia made the revelation in a recent written reply to a parliamentary question by MK Party MP Mzwanele Manyi.
