The Democratic Alliance DA has criticised EFF leader Julius Malema for threatening to lock up AfriForum members.
Malema made the threat at a rally outside the East London magistrates court after his pre-sentencing hearing on Friday 23 January. This followed his conviction on several Firearms Control Act violations in October 2025.
AfriForum filed the charges after the EFF leader discharged a firearm during the EFFs fifth birthday celebrations in 2018 at the Sisa Dukashe Stadium in Mdantsane, Eastern Cape.
