As Cape Town grapples with ongoing safety concerns, Mayor Geordin Hill-Lewis has ardently defended the proposed N2 wall project designed to enhance security along a critical 9km stretch connecting Cape Town International Airport to the city centre, reports Cape townEtc .
Despite facing substantial backlash from public opinion and political factions, Hill-Lewis asserts that residents of informal settlements impacted by the initiative are largely in favour.
In a recent video posted on his X account formerly Twitter, Hill-Lewis interviewed residents from communities adjacent to the proposed wall, including Mitchell's Plain, Khayelitsha, Gugulethu, Philippi, Nyanga, and Langa.
