Eskom has urged communities around the Cape Town International Airport CTIA to ensure that children are supervised and kept away from power lines after the airport and surrounding industrial areas experienced a power outage early on Friday morning.

It was caused by kites that had flown into Eskoms high-voltage power lines.

Eskom says their technicians were dispatched immediately.
