On 09 June 2026, the Department of Trade, Industry and DTIC issued a media statement advising that it had facilitated the participation of four 4 companies in the forestry sector at the WoodEX for Africa and Deck and Flooring Expo, which took place from 09 June 2026 to 11 June 2026 at the Gallagher Convention Centre, Johannesburg.

This support aligns with the DTICs industrial policy objectives of promoting industrialisation, strengthening local manufacturing, enhancing business competitiveness, encouraging value-added production, expanding market access, supporting Small, Medium and Micro Enterprises SMME and creating sustainable jobs. Through participation in the exhibition, the DTIC aims to grow South Africas forestry and furniture manufacturing.
