Police have confirmed that the murder of 18-year-old South African citizen Nhlamulo Sambo is unrelated to the immigration-related unrest that happened in Mossel Bay, Western Cape, over the weekend.
According to Western Cape Police Commissioner Thembisile Patekile, Sambo was stabbed to death at around 03:00 on Sunday morning 31 May while two Mozambican nationals were killed during the unrest between Friday night and Saturday morning.
Police update on Nhlamulo SamboHe explained that Sambo and another 15-year-old individual were found in a shack in KwaNonqaba by its owner while allegedly attempting to take items from the shack.
