A daytime stabbing on one of Cape Towns most popular hiking routes has renewed concerns about safety on Lions Head, after a couple who were attacked while descending the trail towards Camps Bay spoke publicly about their ordeal, reports Cape town Etc .
The incident unfolded over the weekend on the busy path below Lions Head , where the couple were hiking in broad daylight with other walkers nearby. One of the victims, Paul, later shared details of the attack during an interview on CapeTalk , describing how they were approached from behind by three people - one young adult and two children he estimated to be about 12 years old.
According to Paul, the group asked for food and claimed they were hungry, which he believes was a deliberate attempt to distract him and separate him from his wife. Moments later, the situation escalated violently.
