The African National Congress ANC Chief Whip in Parliament Mdumiseni Ntuli says the safety of the members of the Ad Hoc Committee should be a collective responsibility, not solely that of the state.
He says its going to be difficult for the state to protect every public representative who may be under threat.
His comments follow a recent incident in which a member of the committee, probing allegations of political interference in the criminal justice system, was kidnapped and later released after paying a ransom.
