Speaking at the 24 th Seoul International Forum on Trade Remedies on 23 June 2026, the World Trade Organisation WTO deputy director-general DDG underscored the importance of transparent and predictable trade remedy practices amid heightened uncertainty in the global trading system. She highlighted the continued resilience of global trade, the growing use of WTO-consistent trade remedy instruments by members, and the need for WTO reform to ensure that the multilateral trading system remains responsive to contemporary economic realities and emerging trade challenges.
