The Western Cape Education Department WCED has urged parents who have not yet applied for Grade 8 placements for their children for the 2027 academic year to do so with urgency.
The department says parents of 28 000 current Grade 7s have not yet applied, with two weeks to go.
The on-time admissions window closes on the 14th of April 2026.
