The South African Police Service SAPS has suspended a captain attached to the Protection Security Services after reportedly defrauding the service of millions of rands.
Police spokesperson Brigadier Athlenda Mathe says the suspension follows an internal investigation that uncovered discrepancies and suspicious transactions within the Protection Security Services division.
No presidential protection members are implicated.
