Higher Education Deputy Minister Nomusa Dube-Ncube has encouraged 2025 matriculants to consider Technical and Vocational Education and Training TVET colleges as an option, not a second choice, for further education. She says the countrys economy needs technical and vocational skills to grow.
We wish for our children all the world over to encourage students that the number one priority when it comes to higher education, TVET colleges are very relevant because our economy needs more skilled people both technically and vocationally. If you take a good look at how many children have gone to study at universities but they are unemployed simply because the economy does not require the skills obtained. The economy is in great need of skilled people in technical and vocational areas. This is why you find that people from outside South Africa come to work in the country because they have the skills that South Africans lack.
