President Cyril Ramaphosa has approved salary increases for various public office bearers POBs, including Deputy President Paul Mashatile, ministers and deputy ministers, premiers, MECs and MPLs, and MPs.
The approval is contained in a government gazette notice published on Friday 16 January but signed by Ramaphosa on 9 January.
This follows a recommendation in December by the Independent Commission for the Remuneration of Public Office Bearers to increase salaries for POBs by 4.1 across the board.
