Police in Katlehong, Ekurhuleni, have detained ActionSAs mayoral candidate and councillor Xolani Khumalo on charges of assault with intent to cause grievous bodily harm GBH and pointing of a firearm.
Khumalo handed himself over on Monday 19 January, two days after proactively visiting the Katlehong police station following a tip-off that there were plans to arrest him.
Xolani Khumalo detainedActionSA Gauteng provincial chairperson Funzi Ngobeni confirmed that Khumalo had officially been detained. The police are processing his docket now, he told media reporters outside the police station.
