A police operation is currently unfolding at a parking lot outside the Wembley Meat Market, where multiple suspects have been detained in what some reports are calling a drug-related incident, while others are labelling it an attempted hijacking.
According to eyewitnesses on the scene, members of the SAPS Crime Intelligence Unit and Flying Squad swooped in on the lot, quickly detaining five to six individuals.
The suspects were seen being handcuffed and lined up as officers searched three vehicles linked to the group.
The parking lot has since been cordoned off, with a strong police presence combing through the area.
Officers were observed removing evidence from the vehicles, though police have not yet confirmed what was recovered.
