SADTU in the Free State has urged the provincial education department to invest more resources to support teachers.
This after the department launched the provincial Mother Tongue based Bilingual Education MTbBE campaign in the province.
The campaign aims to improve learners performance and promote linguistic diversity in primary schools.
Provincial secretary of SADTU, Bricks Moloi says with the introduction of home languages for teaching numeracy and other literacy subjects, teachers need training to be better capacitated for the transition.
Moloi has also called on parents to support the department.
