Northern Cape High Court Judge President Pule Tlaletsi has been grilled on his stance on sexual harassment within his division. This came out during the first day of the Deputy Chief Justice DCJ interviews being conducted by the Judicial Service Commission JSC in Sandton Johannesburg.

Tlaletsi is one of three candidates nominated for the position.

When questioned on his stance on the plight of sexual harassment within the judiciary, Tlaletsi maintained that he is not aware of it in his division, he does support the need for an anti-sexual harassment policy. A response challenged by most of the panel.

Adv Sesi Baloyi questioned Tlaletsi, If you say, well, Im not aware of it, its worrying because then it suggests conversations are not happening in the judiciary. They may be happening in silos if they are happening, but if youre not aware of it and youre not part of those conversations, then its a completely different worry that we should have.
