The National Sea Rescue Institute NSRI has urged the public to exercise extreme caution along Robberg beaches in Plettenberg Bay in the Southern Cape, due to higher than normal tides. The NSRI says the current new moon spring tides make conditions along these beaches dangerous. The organisation says large sections of the beach have been severely eroded following the recent flooding in the area and that sand embankments are unstable. Beachgoers are asked to monitor tide times.
