Storm damage leaves the historic fairways rethinking their layout
A dramatic image shared by rademan666 from George Golf Club has turned heads after gale-force winds swept through the Garden Route on 11 May and left a giant uprooted tree sprawled across the course.
The George Herald reported that more than 263 trees were brought down at the 120-year-old course, with greens 1, 4 and 16 among the areas most affected.
The scene looks almost cinematic, but the damage is very real. Club management said the storm has permanently changed the course's landscape, while clean-up work continues and the course remains closed until Sunday.
