African National Congress ANC First Deputy Secretary-General Nomvula Mokonyane has called on the scholar transport fraternity to ensure compliance in honour of the fourteen learners who perished in a horrific crash involving their minibus taxi and a truck.
Mokonyane was speaking to SABC News during a candlelight and prayer ceremony held in remembrance of the deceased in Sebokeng, Vanderbijlpark, south of Johannesburg.
A 22-year-old man, who was the learners scholar transport driver, briefly appeared in the Vanderbijlpark Magistrates Court facing fourteen charges of murder, three of attempted murder, and contravening the countrys permit and licencing laws.
