Attempted murder-accused tenderpreneur Vusimuzi Cat Matlala allegedly claimed that he gave money to Deputy National Police Commissioner for Crime Detection, Lt-Gen Shadrack Sibiya, and that he was in constant communication with Police Minister Senzo Mchunu, who is currently on leave of absence.
This is according to Witness C, who testified at the Madlanga commission of inquiry into allegations of criminality, political interference and corruption in the criminal justice system on Friday 24 October.
The witness is from the Political Killings Task Team PKTT and his identity is protected. He told the commission that a team of 20 police officers raided Matlalas home in Centurion, Pretoria, on 6 December 2024.
