President Cyril Ramaphosa has appointed Judge Aubrey Ledwaba as Gauteng Judge President with effect from 15 May 2026.
This is revealed in a statement on Wednesday, where the President has announced appointments to various courts across the country.
The appointment of Ledwaba follows his April 2026 JSC interview which he had to face amid allegations emanating from the Madlanga Commission in October 2025 where in-camera police officials accused him of impropriety in his handling of the bail application of alleged cartel member, Katiso KT Molefe, which he denies.
