South Africa has declared the Charge dAffaires of the Israeli Embassy, Ariel Seidman, persona non grata, ordering him to leave the country within 72 hours following what government has described as a serious breach of diplomatic norms, reports Cape town Etc .

In a statement issued by the Department of International Relations and Cooperation DIRCO, the department confirmed it had formally informed the State of Israel of its decision, citing a series of unacceptable violations of diplomatic norms and practice which pose a direct challenge to South Africas sovereignty .

These violations include the repeated use of official Israeli social media platforms to launch insulting attacks against His Excellency President Cyril Ramaphosa, and a deliberate failure to inform DIRCO of purported visits by senior Israeli officials, the statement read.
