Members of South Africas tourism industry, Australian government officials and Qantas representatives celebrated the commencement of the national carriers direct Perth-Johannesburg flight at a colourful launch event at the Saxon Hotel on Monday, December 8.
Dignitaries included Australian Minister of Trade and Tourism Don Farrell , South Africas Minister of Tourism Patricia de Lille and South African Tourism Acting CEO Darryl Erasmus .
The new route is expected to significantly bolster arrivals from Australasia , which has been one of South Africas fastest-growing source markets post-COVID.
