A quick-thinking surfer is being hailed a hero after helping rescue a young man who got into serious trouble in the water at Clifton 2nd Beach, Cape town Etc reports.
Emergency services were alerted early on Sunday morning after an eyewitness reported a drowning in progress, prompting a rapid response from NSRI Bakoven, City of Cape Town rescue teams and multiple supporting agencies.
As rescue crews rushed to the scene, it emerged that a female surfer had already paddled out, using her board to reach the struggling swimmer and bring him back toward shore.
