A 53-year-old police captain has been arrested for allegedly defrauding the polices Protection and Security Services division of millions of rand.
The arrest follows an internal investigation into suspicious transactions, which revealed the officer allegedly manipulated the system to withdraw millions of funds meant for the presidential protection services.
He is expected to appear in the Pretoria Magistrates Court on Tuesday on a charge of fraud.
