The Gauteng Department of Health has encouraged people applying for disability grants to use community health centres for assistance with South African Social Security Agency medical assessment forms.
The department says the service is available free of charge at primary healthcare facilities, while hospitals may charge administrative fees.
Health officials say using local clinics and community health centres will help reduce pressure on hospitals and make the process more accessible for residents.
