The City of Ekurhuleni has placed its Head of Human Resources, Linda Gxasheka on precautionary suspension. The municipality says the move is aimed at protecting internal processes as investigations continue.
It emerged at the Madlanga Commission in Pretoria that Gxasheka was allegedly reluctant to initiate suspension proceedings against Ekurhuleni Metropolitan Police Department EMPD Deputy Chief Julius Mkhwanazi.
This was over allegations that he fitted state blue lights to private vehicles belonging to controversial businessman, Vusimuzi Cat Matlala.
