Tebogo Malaka, the suspended Independent Development Trust IDT CEO who is accused of bribery, has resigned.

In a statement on Wednesday 14 January, IDT confirmed that her resignation will be effective from 31 January 2026 and will be without exit compensation.

IDTs Tebogo Malaka quits

The IDT board has accepted Malakas resignation. Sfiso Nsibande, who was seconded from the Construction Industry Development Board CIDB, will continue to serve as Acting CEO to ensure organisational stability and continuity.
