National Prosecuting Authority NPA Head Adv Shamila Batohi has admitted to the Nkabinde Inquiry, she did not read the case dockets implicating members of the Cato Manor Unit in serious crimes.
She is facing cross-examination on her evidence presented to the commission into suspended South Gauteng Prosecutions Head Andrew Chaukes fitness to hold office.
Batohi says she relied on an internal memo and a report from the KwaZulu-Natal Director of Public Prosecutions DPP when dropping racketeering charges against Major General Johan Booysen and the unit.
