The arrest of an alleged extortionist in Mfuleni remains the focus of an active police investigation after officers uncovered a high-powered firearm at an informal settlement in Bosasa, Cape Town, reports Cape town Etc .
The alleged extortionist arrest operation unfolded on Friday as law enforcement intensified efforts to disrupt organised crime networks in the area.
Members of the Mfuleni Crime Prevention Unit, working alongside Provincial Crime Intelligence, entered a dwelling in the Bosasa informal settlement following information linked to extortion-related activities. During a search of the premises, officers discovered an R5 assault rifle loaded with 59 rounds of ammunition, as well as two rounds of .38 revolver ammunition.
