Hundreds of women who were part of the anti-gender-based violence nationwide shutdown in Johannesburg on Friday say the crime should top the agenda of the G20 Leaders Summit.
People, including members of the LGBTQIA community dressed in black, gathered at Constitutional Hill to commemorate women killed in gender-based violence.
They lay on the ground in silence for 15 minutes to convey deep grief and exhaustion as well as peaceful and quiet protest.
