Johannesburg City Power has warned against the intimidation and harassment of its technicians. This after a video went viral of a group of people in Turfontein, Johannesburg alleging that technicians were soliciting bribes from them.
The power utility says the allegations are unfounded as the team was in the area to disconnect illegal meter bypasses and conduct meter readings.
City Power Spokesperson Isaac Mangena says the incident was aimed at interfering with their work and instigating violence.
