Rise Mzansi leader Songezo Zibi has strongly opposed the potential licensing of Elon Musks satellite internet service provider Starlink in South Africa, describing such a move as stupid.
This is because Musk, the South Africa-born American billionaire, has declared himself an enemy of South Africas constitutional order, Zibi said in a video shared on X on Sunday 11 January.
Musks SpaceX is Starlinks parent company. It is seeking a workaround to a Broad-Based Black Economic Empowerment B-BBEE requirement that companies investing in South Africa must sell 30 of their local equity to historically disadvantaged groups.
