In a welcome reprieve for motorists and businesses, the South African Department of Mineral and Petroleum Resources DMPR has announced a decrease in fuel prices effective on Wednesday, reports Cape town Etc .

This adjustment, the first in several months, sees petrol, diesel, illuminating paraffin and LPG prices decline, providing relief during a time of rising inflation.

The changes are as follows: petrol prices will decrease by 4.00 cents per litre for both 93 ULP and 95 ULP, while diesel will see reductions of 56.00 cents per litre for 0.05 sulphur and 57.00 cents per litre for 0.005 sulphur.
