Health authorities in the Western Cape have begun rolling out the groundbreaking anti-retro viral injection, Lenacapavir , at 22 sites in the Cape Metro.
These areas, which carry the highest burden of disease fall within five subdistricts in the city and include townships like Delft, Khayelitsha, Gugulethu, Mfuleni and Nomzamo.
The rollout of the HIV preventative injection, which is administered twice a year, has been described as a move towards the normalization of the response to HIV.
