Two students from the University of Fort Hare UFH in the Eastern Cape have been taken to hospital after sustaining injuries clashing with police.
The students allege it is gunshot wounds.
The incident occurred in the Alice Campus where students have been protesting since Monday, demanding to hold SRC elections and the resignation of the Vice Chancellor, Professor Sakhela Buhlungu.
