Malawi's pioneering mobile operator, TNM plc, has reaffirmed its long-term commitment to national development and digital transformation during a visit to the Malawi Communications Regulatory Authority MACRA. The company's leadership shared its growth plans and investment strategy aimed at expanding access to advanced technologies across the country.

TNM's Chief Executive Officer, Michel Hebert, highlighted the operator's role in introducing successive generations of mobile technology in Malawi, including 2G, 3G, 4G, 5G and mobile money services. The company said its focus remains on ensuring connectivity and digital services are accessible to citizens in all parts of the country, supporting broader socio-economic development.

MACRA Acting Director General Mayamiko Nkoloma expressed the regulator's support for TNM's expansion efforts. This includes engaging the central bank on issues related to foreign exchange access to support infrastructure investment. He also urged the operator to enhance communication with customers regarding network-related issues that may affect service quality.
