The case against a man accused of allegedly starting the fire last month which destroyed sections of Tembisa Hospital will continue on Friday.
48-year-old Thembinkosi Manqunyana appeared in the Tembisa Magistrates Court on Monday facing a charge of arson and malicious damage to property.
The case was postponed allowing the Director of Public Prosecutions to decide on whether the charge should be classified as schedule one or schedule five offence.
The state is of the impression that the schedule is schedule five offence. Although in terms of the criminal procedure act, of 1977. Arson and malicious damage to property is a schedule one offence, Defense Attorney Mfundiso Ndlebe elaborates.
