Ongoing delays and backlogs at sea and airports are driving shippers to turn to express and courier services, opting to send smaller shipments faster.
According to Ashen Ramkissoon, sales manager at SA CARGO, there has been a clear shift towards shipments under 30kg, as many customers opt for courier services to ensure speed and reliability.
Customers are prioritising speed and certainty in their supply chains, and smaller, more frequent shipments via courier services offer a practical solution for delays of larger consignments of cargo, he said.
