Former Executive Director of the Independent Police Investigative Directorate IPID, Robert McBride, says suspended Deputy National Commissioner for Crime Detection, Lt-Gen Shadrack Sibiya, was wrongly implicated in an IPID report.
McBride was appointed IPID boss in February 2014. He was suspended in March 2015, but the Constitutional Court set the suspension aside in September 2016. His term ended in February 2019.
His suspension was linked to a report that recommended criminal charges against Sibiya and former Hawks head Anwa Dramat.
