ActionSA has criticised the government of national unity GNU for skewed priorities following a staggering R3.7 billion expenditure on VIP and static protection services in the 2024/2025 financial year.

Acting Police Minister Prof Firoz Cachalia revealed this figure in a reply to a recent parliamentary question by ActionSA MP Alan Beesley.

Cachalia said in 2024/2025, VIP protection cost taxpayers R2.29 billion while static protection services cost R1.4 billion.
