A Sekhukhune United soccer player has handed himself over to police hours after a fatal crash that led to the death of a nine-year-old child.
The accident took place yesterday morning along Andrew Mapheto Road in Tembisa, Ekurhuleni.
Ekurhuleni Metro Polices Spokesperson Thabiso Makgatho says the 29-year-old driver collided with a car driven by a woman who was ferrying two children to school.
Makgatho says the soccer star handed himself over at Rabie Ridge police station.
The crash came a day after the football club claimed a 2-0 victory against Richards Bay at the Peter Mokaba Stadium in Polokwane on Tuesday night.
