A section of the R62 road between Kareedouw and Joubertina in the Eastern Cape has been closed to traffic after collapsing due to ongoing adverse weather .
Provincial Transport Spokesperson, Unathi Binqose says the affected section is expected to remain closed for some time while detailed assessments are undertaken and repair plans are finalised.
Binqose says motorists travelling to and from the Western Cape are advised to make use of the alternative route via the N2.
