Authorities in the Western Cape are bracing for further severe weather conditions as a second cold front is expected to bring more rain, flooding and strong winds on Sunday evening.
Joint operations centres have been activated from local to provincial level following warnings issued by the South African Weather Service SAWS.
Provincial Disaster Management Centre spokesperson, Sonja Chinnian says search and rescue teams have been pre-positioned, while Eskom rapid response units remain on standby as officials continue monitoring roads and mountain passes.
