The South African Municipal Workers Union SAMWU has vowed to continue its strike in the uMsunduzi Municipality in the KwaZulu-Natal midlands until its demands are met.
Around 2 400 workers affiliated to SAMWU have been on strike since Thursday last week. The unions demands include what it calls fair remuneration.
There are concerns that the strike will negatively affect the citys economy.
