President Cyril Ramaphosas name has now entered the fray in Parliaments Ad Hoc Committee , investigating allegations of criminal infiltration, corruption and political interference in the justice system.
Its raising the possibility that the head of state could be called to account before lawmakers on the disbandment of the Political Killings Task Team PKTT.
Committee chair Soviet Lekganyane says the Presidents name, along with senior police generals, will be referred to Parliaments legal team for assessment. This could ultimately determine whether Ramaphosa is asked to appear before the committee or respond in writing.
